Why you care
The maths is brutal early. A single 1-star on a listing with a dozen reviews drops your average by roughly 0.3 — enough to move you down in search and cost weeks of occupancy you never see itemised.
Worked example
4.9 to 4.6 does not sound like much. It can cost $20–35 a night in what the market will pay you.
