Risk & Money-In
Chargeback
A guest disputing the charge with their card issuer after the stay.
Why you care
This is a direct-booking risk the OTAs absorb for you. Card networks lean toward the cardholder, and “services not as described” is hard to rebut without a signed agreement.
Worked example
Keep a signed rental agreement, the ID, the messages and the check-in timestamp. Without them you will lose a $2,400 chargeback you should have won.
