Money & Performance

Cleaning Fee

The separate charge a guest pays for the turnover — not profit.

Why you care

It is a pass-through, and for most owners a slightly negative one. Believing it is profit leads owners to underprice the nightly rate to compensate for a “high” cleaning fee, which is the expensive part.

Worked example

You charge $150. Cleaner takes $125, laundry $15, consumables $18. You ran that turn at −$8, and paid a platform fee on the $150 for the privilege.
