Why you care
Shoulder season is where amateur pricing bleeds out. Holding peak rates into late April empties the calendar, and an empty night is worth nothing forever — you cannot sell it later.
Worked example
Late August through September in Orlando. Dropping from $250 to $155 and cutting the minimum stay from 4 nights to 2 can move occupancy from 38% to 71% — about $1,400 more in a month that was going to sit empty.
